Uliyannur Sree Mahadeva Temple is also known as Uliyannur Madathilappan Mahadeva Temple and is located at the bank of Periyar River, at Uliyannur village in the Aluva Taluk of Ernakulam District. The Uliyannur Sree Mahadeva Temple was designed and constructed by the well known architect Sri Uliyannur Perumthachan.

The old temple consecrated by Parasurama in BC 525 can be seen at a distance of about 20 metres. Lord Shiva’s idol faces the east and the Periyar River and a big statue of Nandi faces the west. The idol of Goddess Parvati also faces towards the west and Annapoorneshwari is the secondary deity here.
